Serve on a Volunteer Committee!
The pressures on the physical therapy profession are increasing. The Chapter has been successful in accomplishing much for our membership, primarily through the efforts of our dedicated volunteers. We always need new faces, new ideas, and new energy. Please take a minute to sign up below to help out in an area that interests you. You must be a member of the APTA Colorado Chapter to serve.
- Bob Doctor Golf Tournament Committee - Assists in planning and hosting the Bob Doctor Golf Tournament, held annually to raise support for the Colorado Chapter’s legislative advocacy activities.
- Colorado Physical Therapy Political Action Committee (PAC) - Serves as a fundraising group committed to supporting state and local candidates whose views are supportive of the profession and practice of physical therapy.
- Diversity, Equity, Inclusion (DEI) Committee - Identify areas of specific need in relation to diversity, equity, and inclusion in the physical therapy profession and outline how the APTA CO can promote and foster DEI while acting within the responsibilities of this committee and/or providing recommendations to the Board to meet those needs.
- Early Professional Leadership Committee - To facilitate the successful transition of early career professionals through promotion of participation in leadership roles within the profession by empowering mentorship, networking, advocacy, and service.
- Governmental Affairs Committee - Monitors and reports on local and national legislative activities; lobbies and advocates before regulatory bodies.
- Membership Committee - Recruit PTs, PTA, and students to the APTA.
- Mentoring Committee - Develops and expands opportunities for mentoring PT students and recent graduates.
- Professional Development Committee (PDC) - Develops and expands opportunities for ongoing education for Colorado PTs, PT Assistants and students and plans programs for Spring Convention, Fall Symposium and other continuing education offerings.
- Reimbursement & Payer Relations Task Force Committee - Advocates for prompt and reasonable payment for Physical Therapy services and serves as liaison between Chapter members and third party payers (Medicare, Medicaid, Workers Comp, commercial insurers).
- Research Committee - Serves as a resource support group to assist in research conducted by Chapter members. Provides communication and education opportunities in four regional areas of the state.
Elected/Appointed Committees
- Nominating Committee – Prepares slate of nominees to be presented for election in the spring, including PTs and PTAs from each district, male and female, hospitals and clinics.
