President

President Elect:

1. Constitutional Responsibilities
a. Must have served on the Board of Directors for a minimum of 2 years (Article VIII, Section (2)(A)
b. The president elect works closely with the president to become familiar with the responsibility and workings of the office and shall assume any duties as the President shall assign (Article VII, Section (3)(B)
c. Term of office is one year, the president elect will automatically assume the position of president 1 year after being elected (Article VII, Section (4)(B)(3)
d. Meetings: Attend four (4) Executive Committee meetings (via conference call); attend four (4) live Board of Director’s meetings.

2. Specific Responsibilities
a. Serves on the Executive Committee as a non-voting member.
b. Serves on the Board of Directors
c. Serves as the Board liaison to the Practice Director to various task forces, committees, and other groups assigned

3. Additional Qualifications
a. Experience in association leadership positions
b. Ability to function independently and interdependently and to provide direction and leadership
c. Sound understanding of the healthcare delivery system, the profession, and the association. d. Strong communication and interaction skills, including awareness of parliamentary procedure e. Ability to be a futuristic leader
f. Ability and willingness to devote time to fulfilling responsibilities

4. Additional Time and Financial Commitments
a. Time: The office of President Elect requires about 5 hours per week.
b. Financial Commitment: The President Elect may be required to attend the HOD the year following his election to office. He/she receives financial support to 9 attend HOD meetings based on the Chapter Financial Guidelines. The primary financial impact results from the time that is likely spent away from the practice setting.
