This course will integrate lecture and laboratory m aterial offering techniques that will allow for a logical evaluation to ass ist with differential diagnosis. This will include an assessment for both m usculoskeletal and non-musculoskeletal pathologies. For those with musculos keletal pathology a classification-based treatment program will be defined in both lecture and laboratory. This will include hands-on mobilization tec hniques for the sacroiliac joint and hip as well as the implementation of i nnovative exercises. For those with non-musculoskeletal related pain, appro priate referral and recommendations will be outlined. Registration on a first come first served basis & only 24 registrants permitted, so register early!

Dr. RobRoy L. Marti
n received a bachelor degree in Physical Therapy in 1991 from S.U.N.Y. Heal
th Science Center in Syracuse. A doctoral degree from the School of Health
and Rehabilitation Sciences was completed June 2003 at the University of Pi
ttsburgh. Current employment is at Duquesne University as Professor in the
Department of Physical Therapy and as a part-time staff-physical therapist
at the Center for Rehab Services/University of Pittsburgh Medical Center's
Center for Sports Medicine. Areas of interest include outcome research rela
ted to the lower extremity, specifically the hip, ankle and foot. Over 80 p
ublications,100 presentations and three grants have been completed related
to this research agenda. RobRoy currently serves as an Editor for the Acade
my of Orthopaedic Physical Therapy Clinical Practice Guidelines.
