Description: This course will provide a fundamental foundation on specified manual therapy techniques including neurodynamic mobilizations, soft tissue mobilization and stretching techniques as they relate to the lumbopelvic region and the lower quarter. This lab course will be designed to maximize hands-on practice with short lectures and group discussion. Cases will be presented to promote understanding of how and when these techniques are utilized in practice.

During the lab, participants will have expert supervision and guidance from multiple Fellows of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists and active clinicians.

This course meets Colorado standards for 8 hours of Professional Development Activity.

Target audience: PTs, PTAs, PT Students & PTA Students

Objectives for participants:

  • Understand the mechanisms of manual therapy for the treatment of musculoskeletal dysfunction
  • Describe current best practice recommendations for the use of STM and neurodynamic mobilization
  • Develop hands on skills for:
    • Neurodynamic mobilization
    • Soft tissue mobilization
    • Soft tissue stretching
  • Learn advanced strategies to instruct patients in self-neurodynamic mobilization, soft tissue mobilization and stretching
  • Advance your practice as the primary assistant in the delivery of physical therapist services
