Differential Diagnosis, Evaluation and Management of Lumbopelvic, Abdominal and Hip Pain

APTA Colorado West District Event - Co-Sponsored by St. Mary's Hospital

This course will integrate lecture and laboratory material offering techniques that will allow for a logical evaluation to assist with differential diagnosis. This will include an assessment for both musculoskeletal and non-musculoskeletal pathologies. For those with musculoskeletal pathology a classification-based treatment program will be defined in both lecture and laboratory. This will include hands-on mobilization techniques for the sacroiliac joint and hip as well as the implementation of innovative exercises. For those with non-musculoskeletal related pain, appropriate referral and recommendations will be outlined. Registration on a first come first served basis & only 24 registrants permitted, so register early! 

CEs: This course is worth 8.5 hours of CE credit. 

Speaker: 

RobRoy Martin, Ph.D.
Dr. RobRoy L. Martin received a bachelor degree in Physical Therapy in 1991 from S.U.N.Y. Health Science Center in Syracuse. A doctoral degree from the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences was completed June 2003 at the University of Pittsburgh. Current employment is at Duquesne University as Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy and as a part-time staff-physical therapist at the Center for Rehab Services/University of Pittsburgh Medical Center's Center for Sports Medicine. Areas of interest include outcome research related to the lower extremity, specifically the hip, ankle and foot. Over 80 publications,100 presentations and three grants have been completed related to this research agenda. RobRoy currently serves as an Editor for the Academy of Orthopaedic Physical Therapy Clinical Practice Guidelines.
