Description: Manual therapy is an integral part of a physical therapist assistant’s scope of work. This course is the second in our PTA series and will provide a fundamental foundation on manual therapy in addition to the current guidelines and recommendations for the PTA. Course content will explore different osteokinematic mobilizations both passive and active, proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation techniques, assisted neurodynamic, and soft tissue techniques as they relate to the lumbopelvic region and the lower quarter. This lab course will be designed to maximize hands-on practice with short lectures and group discussion. During the lab, participants will have expert supervision and guidance from multiple Fellows of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists and active clinicians. This course meets Colorado standards for 8 hours of Category I Professional Development Activity. Target audience: PTAs, PTA students Objectives for participants:
