Megan Brito, PT, DPT, FAAOMPT

Dr. Brito is running for Treasurer in the 2022 APTA Colorado Elections.

Hi! I’m Megan Brito and currently practice in the outpatient hospital setting in Buena Vista, CO. I specialize in manual, vestibular, pediatric and pelvic health physical therapy; but also see everything else being in a rural area. I graduated in 2012 with my DPT and finished my manual therapy fellowship at Regis University in the fall of 2017. For the first 7.5 years of my career I practiced in Grand Junction, CO and then my family and I moved to the mountains where we love spending time hiking, fishing, camping and SU paddle boarding. I have been a member of the CO APTA since 2010 and previously active on the CO APTA board for a total of 7 years, serving as a student representative my 3rd year of school, nominating committee member/chair, as the western slope chair and as director at large. I stepped away from leadership to have children and now am looking to jump back in!

What strengths do you bring to the Colorado Chapter and what strengths would you bring to the position you are running for?
I’ve been on the CO APTA board for a total of 7 years, serving as a student representative my 3rd year of DPT school, nominating committee member/chair, as the western slope chair and as director at large. I feel this would help me transition into a executive position as the treasurer. I have knowledge of the CO Chapter, experience with how the board operates, knowledge of practicing in CO after practicing 10 years in the state, experience/understanding with budgets on a large scale as I volunteered as the treasurer for a non-profit organization for 2 years.

What are weaknesses of the Colorado Chapter and what improvements would you like to make?
Communication with smaller rural areas, events in the regions not along the I25.
